A short term rental is a residential dwelling unit, apartment, condo, or accessory where sleeping areas are rented to overnight guests for a period of less than 30 consecutive days. There are two types of short term rentals:
The City of El Paso will be hosting public meetings to review potential regulations for short term rentals. Short term rentals are residential units (single-family, duplex, multifamily) that are rented to overnight guests for short periods of time, no more than 30 days and are typically reserved online via websites such as Airbnb or Vrbo. The amendments are evaluating where these may operate, permitting requirements, and enforcement actions. These meetings are beneficial to those that operate a short term rental unit or if you have concerns about how they may function in neighborhoods. City staff will present the initial draft of changes and welcomes public feedback prior to City Council action.
