    Area Partners Join Against HIV/AIDS for Candlelight Vigil

    EL PASO, Texas – With more than 2,000 reported cases of people living with HIV in El Paso County and even more believed to be infected but not diagnosed, the City of El Paso Department of Public Health’s HIV Prevention Program is teaming up with other organizations to bring international awareness to the issue. The Binational HIV/AIDS Candlelight Vigil is a tradition that aims to raise social consciousness and help stop the shame and discrimination often associated with the disease.

    Third Flu Related Death

    EL PASO, Texas – The City of El Paso Department of Public Health announced today the third flu-related death in the area this season. The patient was a pre-teen girl with multiple chronic medical conditions. She tested positive for Influenza A and had not received a flu vaccine this season.
