As Chairman of the El Paso City Employees’
Pension Fund I welcome you to view our newly designed web site. I
encourage all of our employees, their spouses, and all our
retirees to use this web page as a resource of information. The
web page has many useful contacts and links. I applaud the Board
of Trustees and staff for designing this helpful tool for our
employees and retirees.
For our current employees, the web site has a calculator built
into the site that will allow you to obtain a rough estimate of
your projected pension benefits. All you have to do to obtain an
on-line estimate is to input your anticipated years of service,
salary, and your accumulated sick leave at your age at retirement. The on-line calculator is programmed to give you your estimate
immediately. The on-line calculator will provide you with useful
information but it does not provide all the retirement options
from which you will select at the time of your retirement. It does
serve as only a guide. However, I have to remind you that while
this is a useful tool when it comes time to actually file your
retirement application you must go to our pension office at City
Hall to file the necessary paperwork.
The web site also has included Chapter 2.64 of the El Paso
Municipal Code to the web site. This is the City ordinance that
governs the activities and investments of our Fund. This is a
useful tool should you require detail information regarding the
rules from which our pension fund is administered.
For retirees who have already retired we hope this web site will
provide you with continuing contact information regarding the
Fund. In addition the web site will occasionally post current news
information regarding the activities of the Fund.
Our pension staff is always there to assist you if you have
questions or comments regarding your retirement plan. Please feel
free to contact them should you have any comments or questions and
they will be glad to respond to your inquiries.
Thanks again for viewing our web page and I wish you the very best
in your work with the City or in your well deserved retirement.
