Beginning Sunday, March 22nd 2009, Sun Metro will implement route changes on 14 of 22 recommended service improvements to provide passengers with service enhancements that include earlier bus service on some routes, 10 to 15 minute frequency on SMART 101 routes and the reinstatement of Routes 21 and 23, whose service had been deactivated in 2006.

SMART 101 ROUTEproviding limited stop express service from the international bridge to Oregon and Glory Road Monday through Sunday.
ROUTE 4UNION PLAZA Saturday and Sunday will have the same operating schedule from 7:55 am- 7:15 pm on a 40 minute frequency.
ROUTE 7NORTHEAST / MISSION VALLEY modified to travel straight on Diana eliminating the Stonewall-Rutherford-Stahala loop area. This area will be serviced by the new Trans-Mt/EPCC circulator. This route will now also cover the Butterfield Trail area.
ROUTE 8NORTH/SOUTH CIRCULATOR will now operate every 20 minutes every day, extending to Anthony on all trips.
ROUTE 9NEW DOWNTOWN CIRCULATOR The new free downtown circulator will provide more direct service to all the main attractions and governmental agencies located in the downtown area.
ROUTE 10SUNSET HEIGHTS/UTEP extended to Gregory and Stanton via Mesa. El Paso and 6th eliminated. 10 minutes was added to weekday and Saturday trips, and an additional 25 minutes on Sundays. An extra AM trip and two later PM trips were also added to Sunday.
ROUTE 15MESA The introduction of an additional unit to the weekday schedule on this route will improve its frequency from a 30 minute to 25 minutes.
ROUTE 17THREE HILLS/EPCC The current weekday schedule will be extended to Saturday and Sunday with one unit.
ROUTE 21CHELMONT/RAYNOLDS The re-introduction of this route to resume weekday service after being deactivated in 2006.
ROUTE 23PAISANO/FOX PLAZA The re-introduction of this route to resume weekday service after being deactivated in 2006.
ROUTE 34MEDICAL CENTER An 8:20 am trip will be added to Saturday schedule. Current starting schedule is 9:05 am from the downtown area.
ROUTE 35NORTHGATE/DYER An earlier 5:30 am inbound trip from the Five Point Terminal will be added.
ROUTE 40NORTH HILLS/RUSHING An additional 10 minutes was added to mitigate existing traffic conditions and several school zones.
ROUTE 42NORTHEAST CONNECTOR Weekday frequency improved from 30 minutes to 20 minutes.
ROUTE 43SHEARMAN PARK/DYER Frequency on this route will increase to 60 minutes every day. Service will now be from Northgate to Angora Loop only.
ROUTE 44SEAN HAGGERTY VIA MCCOMBS Frequency for weekdays and Saturdays improved to 40 minutes. The route also now extends to cover the new subdivisions in the Sand Stone Estates area.
ROUTE 45TM/EPCC CIRCULATOR The introduction of the New Transmountain/EPCC circulator will service EPCC and the Stonewall/Rutherford/Stahala loop area with a 30 minute headway Monday thru Sunday.
ROUTE 46NORTHEAST CIRCULATOR / RUSHING Routing change only: modified to travel straight on Diana eliminating the Stonewall-Rutherford-Stahala loop area. This area will be serviced by the new Trans-Mt/EPCC circulator.
ROUTE 52EDGEMERE Frequency will be 60 minutes weekdays and Saturdays.
ROUTE 57BEAUMONT HOSPITAL VIA AIRPORT will no longer have service on Sundays.
ROUTE 58MONTANA/LOOP 375 Route modification will improve service to the Turner/Leticia/ Edgemere area. An additional 10 minutes will be added in order to assist in maintaining schedule adherence.
ROUTE 70UNIVERSITY EXPRESS Service extended to Glory Road.
