Fitness Release

• Applications are available at the Regional Command Centers, Police Headquarters, EPPD Training Academy, City Hall (3rd floor and online at http://www.elpasotexas.gov/personnel/employment.asp
  
• Completed applications may be turned in to the El Paso Police Department Headquarters located at 911 North Raynor Street, El Paso, Texas 79903.

Physical Fitness Clinics

The El Paso Police Department will be offering physical fitness clinics to persons interested in joining the EPPD. These clinics are designed to assist the applicant in preparation for the Physical Fitness Examination and the Training Academy. The clinics are voluntary, no appointment necessary and free of charge. The clinics will be held each Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. beginning March 1, 2008. The clinics will be held at the EPPD Training Academy, located at 2300 Scenic Drive. Persons interested in attending must bring the completed medical release forms to the clinics. The medical release forms are available by visiting the EPPD website www.eppd.org, Employment Section under Applicant Resources. Please wear comfortable work out clothing. Persons interested in attending the clinics should contact the Training Academy @ (915) 562-4263 on the Friday before the scheduled Saturday clinic and advise them of their anticipated participation.

Police Trainee

• Applications will be accepted December 15, 2007 thru February 29, 2008, for the 112th academy class scheduled for June 2008.
• Applications will be accepted March 1, 2008 thru September 26, 2008 for the January 2009 academy class.

• Scheduling for the written and fitness exam will be dependant upon when the application is received by the Personnel Division.
• Written exam May 3, 2008, applicable fitness dates: May 3, 2008 & May 17, 2008.
• Written exam June 7, 2008, applicable fitness dates: June 7, 2008 & June 21, 2008.
• Written exam July 12, 2008, applicable fitness dates: July 12, 2008 & July 26, 2008.
• Written exam August 9, 2008, applicable fitness dates: August 9, 2008 & August 23, 2008.
• Written exam September 27, 2008, applicable fitness dates: September 27, 2008 & October 11, 2008.

• Applications are being accepted on a continual basis for the positions of Certified Police Trainee and Police Officer (Lateral Transfer).
• The next scheduled five week Lateral/CPT is scheduled to begin in May 2008.
• The application filing period for the May 2008 class is December 15, 2007 thru March 7, 2008.
• The application filing period for the August 2008 Lateral/CPT will be from March 8, 2008 thru June 27, 2008.
• The written examination and fitness examination will coincide with the Police Trainee testing dates.
