A technological upgrade in the process is the conversion
to electronic ticket writing. A "Palm Pilot"-type of device allows for
the drivers license to be scanned; the few remaining fields are filled in
with a stylus, a "PC pen". The traffic violator is then issued a
"receipt" for the violation.
