What is Elder Abuse? Elder Abuse is a term referring to any knowing, intentional, or negligent act by a caregiver or any other person that causes harm to a vulnerable adult, age 65 or older. The specificity of laws varies from state to state, but broadly defined, abuse may be:
Elder abuse can affect people of all ethnic backgrounds and social status and can affect both men and women. If you suspect someone is a victim of elderly abuse or neglect, please call 1-800-521-3965. In an emergency, call 911. The El Paso Police Department-White Collar Crime/Financial Crimes Unit can
provide services to citizens in need of assistance regarding financial
