Parks at Schools Program

The Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the El Paso and Yselta Independent School Districts have formed a partnership to enhance the open space services to the community. In areas of the city where the residents do not have easy access to a recreation center or a park, the school districts have agreed to let the Parks Department open the outside playground and playing field areas of the school so that the surrounding neighborhoods can have a place to play and exercise. The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for providing a monitor at be at the site to ensure the safety of the participants.
