Parks & Recreation - OPEN SPACE ADVISORY GROUP MEETINGS

The committee has identified a number of areas to preserve as open space. There are maps and tables available for your review. You may also view a PowerPoint presentation before the next meeting. On Wednesday, September 13, the advisory group will meet to finalize its recommendations to City Council about the preservation of open space in and around El Paso. The advisory group meeting is open to the public. It will be held at 3 p.m. in the 10th floor conference room at City Hall (northeast corner of the building). Free parking is available on the west side of City Hall.

NOTE: Please remember that the final decision will be made by City Council, after a public hearing. Until then, all information presented is only tentative.

An e-mail address, openspace@elpasotexas.gov, is available for submission of public content.

The full schedule of public meetings is:

An advisory group, made of 40+ El Pasoans from different sectors (residents, business, community), came together for an initial meeting, held June 28, 2006. These advisory group meetings will be open to the public. They will take the input received, develop a map of current and future open space areas, and will determine strategies for implementation. This map will be presented to City Council, along with suggestions on how to realize the goals.
