Parks & Recreation - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PARKS AND RECREATION

Where I can get information to rent a shelter or park?
Call (915) 541-4331. The contract can get started over the phone but an in-person visit to City Hall, 2 Civic Center Plaza, 6th Floor to sign and pay for the rental is required.

How can I find the phone number for a recreation center or senior center?
The telephone numbers for all Parks and Recreation facilities are located in the City Government section of the telephone directory. Or, call at (915) 541-4331 Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Or, visit Recreation or Senior Centers on the webpage for phone numbers.

Who can a person call to report water running down the street or other problems at parks?
The Parks and Recreation maintenance section can be reached by calling (915) 621-6792 after hours or (915) 541-4331 during regular business hours. The dispatcher at this number will submit a work order to correct the problem as soon as possible.

Where can I get information on how and where a person of any age may participate in recreational activities?
This information is available on the Department’s webpage under Recreation Centers or Senior Centers or youth sports or adult sports.

My Father/Mother is over 60 years old and is looking for some place in El Paso where they can go for something to do. Do you have a number that I can call to find out about such a place?
Information for persons age 55 and over who wish to participate in recreation activities can be found in the telephone directory under City Government Parks and Recreation Senior Centers section, City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Web page, www.elpasotexas.gov/parks. Call (915) 541-4331 for more information.

Where I can get help with my income tax preparation?
Prior to the April deadline for submitting tax returns, the Parks and Recreation Department offers free tax return assistance at several Senior Citizen Centers. Telephone the nearest Senior Citizen Center or call the Parks and Recreation Department at (915) 541-4331.

I would like information on your swimming pools.
Please call the Aquatics Office at (915) 544-3556. The webpage has a listing of all the Indoor and Outdoor Aquatic Facilities.

Where can I get a permit to sell at a city park?
Selling in public parks is prohibited by City ordinance with the exception of vendors who obtain a concession agreement. Call (915) 541-4331 for more information on concession agreements.

How can I get information about the locations of City Parks or Parks facilities?
By calling the nearest Recreation Center, Senior Citizen Center nearest to you or by calling (915) 541-4331. Or visit the Parks and Recreation website.

How can I get Gus & Goldie to do a presentation?
Please call the Aquatics Office at (915) 544-3556.

I am having a neighborhood event. Can I get some staff and equipment assistance from the Parks and Recreation Department?
The Parks and Recreation Department does not have the equipment, staff support, or authority to rent or provide use of city equipment such as staging, sound systems, etc. It is recommended that local rental companies are consulted for this service.
