Airline Ride Across America
On April 10, 2006 the Airline Ride Across America is coming to El Paso, Texas and will be joining up with Representative O'Rourke at
City Hall to ride into Ft. Bliss, Texas in honor of those who died on September 11th. The Airline Ride Across America is a bike ride with a
core group five men riding from Los Angeles, California to Washington D.C, Tom Heidenberger, the leader of the group, lost his wife Michele
who was a flight attendant on Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon.
- The cyclists left Los Angeles on April 2nd and are arriving at the Pentagon on May 9th. Their route takes them by Shanksville,
Pennsylvania and Ground Zero. On April 10th, their tribute brings them through El Paso. They will be joining with Representative O'Rourke and
members of the El Paso cycling community at the Durango side of City Hall at 9:30am. From then, the group will be riding into the Cassidy Gate
at Ft. Bliss where soldiers will be awaiting their arrival lining the streets to Milan Physical Fitness Center which is dedicated to Army Maj.
Ron Milan was an Air Defender who was taken in the tragedy on 9/11.
