Item: 1.  Discussion and action to direct the City Manager to submit to the Metropolitan Planning Organization a project request for the design and construction of a quiet zone project in the vicinity of the University Medical Center and the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine as a priority transportation project for the City of El Paso. "
   
 

ACTION TAKEN: 1) TO ADD THE QUIET ZONE IN THE VICINITY OF THE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER AND THE PAUL L. FOSTER SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AS A PRIORITY TRANSPORTATION PROJECT FOR THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION IF THE PEDESTRIAN ELEMENT PROJECTS AND BUS ELEMENT PROJECTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING IN THE FEDERAL CATEGORIES BUT THIS TRANSPORTATION PROJECT IS ELIGIBLE FOR A FEDERAL FUNDING CATEGORY, AND 2) TO ADD THIS TRANSPORTATION PROJECT TO THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN (MTP).
