  TREE BOARD
The City Tree Board was sunset on September 22, 2009, and its functions and duties transferred to a subcommittee of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board , which is located at the following website: http://www.elpasotexas.gov/muni_clerk/detail.asp?id=52.

Duties:  The Tree Board shall act as an advisory committee to the mayor and city council in efforts to promote close cooperation between the city and all private citizens, institutions and agencies interested in the establishment, development and sustainability of the urban forest; shall advise on proposed changes to the tree care ordinance, landscape ordinance, the city's approved list of plants to be planted on public property and within public right-of-way, guidelines for planting, maintenance and removal of trees; shall perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time by the City Manager, with the goal of increasing the tree canopy cover throughout the city.
