  TRANSPORTATION POLICY BOARD FOR THE EL PASO URBAN TRANSPORATION STUDY
Duties:  Transportation Policy Board (TPB) was established in compliance with the federal mandate that requires all urbanized areas with a population of greater than 50,000 to have a transportation planning committee to ensure that all urban transportation studies are performed in accordance with local governments' desires and in conformance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
Qualifications:  Representatives of local units of government shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the City Councils for the entity they represent and commissioners court respectively, and may be a serving member on the governing body they represent. Said appointee(s) shall provide to the Executive Director of the MPO a copy of the resolution appointing them prior to participating in a meeting. All TPB members may elect to be a non-voting member of the MPO, by submitting a letter to the Chairperson of the Transportation Policy Board at the annual business meeting and requesting that their seat be counted as a non-voting position. Such letter shall be valid for a period of 1 year from its date.
Seats:  23 Members: 7 City Appointees including; 1 Sun Metro, 1 Airport, 2 County; also, 5 Texas State Representatives, 3 Texas State Senators, 6 Mayors (or their appointees) of surrounding towns / villages, 1 Senator and 1 Representative from New Mexico, 1 Texas Department of Transportation (TEXDOT) Member, 1 County Wide and 1 El Paso County Transit Agency Member. NOTE: This listing shows only City appointees.
Term:  City Appointees are appointed by resolution and serve until replaced and do NOT file financial disclosure forms.
