| HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS |
| Duties: The Board's general duties are: 1) hire, supervise, and evaluate the President/CEO; 2) develop, direct, and oversee policy direction of the Housing Authority; and 3) ensure fiscal controls and accountability. The Housing authority is governed by federal and state law. Federal law administered by monitors by HUD, and state law enforced by the state. The Housing Authority is governed by an 11-member Board of Commissioners who are appointed by the Mayor. |

| Seats: 5 by the Mayor. Created by Article 1269K of Local Govt. Code |
| Term: Commissioners with 2 year terms (including the Resident Commissioner); Three, 1 year terms with subsequent appointees to serve 2 year terms. All terms end on February 17th. |
