MUNICIPAL CLERK AND COURTS

 

  HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Duties:  The Board's general duties are: 1) hire, supervise, and evaluate the President/CEO; 2) develop, direct, and oversee policy direction of the Housing Authority; and 3) ensure fiscal controls and accountability. The Housing authority is governed by federal and state law. Federal law is administered and monitored by HUD, and State law is enforced by the state. The Housing Authority is governed by a 5-member Board of Commissioners who are appointed by the Mayor.
Qualifications
Seats:  5 by the Mayor. Created by Article 1269K of Local Govt. Code
Term:  Commissioners may serve 2 years and 2 subsequent 2-yr terms. Texas Local Government Code § 392.0331(f), a Resident Commissioner shall be appointed for a term of 2 years and may be reappointed for no more than 1 subsequent 2-year term.
