SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) is currently accepting applications for the 2014 season of Music Under the Stars and Dancing in the City. MCAD encourages local and touring musical talent to apply before the application deadline on Monday, November 18, 2013.

Chalk the Block Public Art Festival

Chalk the Block is quickly becoming an El Paso signature event. Come experience downtown El Paso in a whole new light as we invite you to feast your eyes on some amazing sidewalk chalk art, live music, temporary art installations, an interactive KIDZONE, art vendors, great food, chalk art competitions, and much more! Best of all, this event is FREE and open to the public!

 

ABOUT MUSIC UNDER THE STARS

Since 1983, the City of El Paso has programmed an outdoor summer concert program known as Music Under the Stars at the Chamizal National Memorial. The 30th summer concert series will take place Sundays from 7:30pm to 9:30pm starting June 9 – August 11, 2013 and also features a special patriotic concert on July 4. The outdoor concert series features local and international performers and draws over 60,000 attendees.

ABOUT DANCING IN THE CITY

Dancing in the City is an outdoor dance concert series in Arts Festival Plaza presented in collaboration with the Convention and Visitors Bureau. The event takes place every Saturday from June 1 – July 27, 2013 from 7:00pm-10:00pm (with the exception of the June 29th weekend to accommodate the Downtown Street Festival). The event offers attendees a live dance lesson taught by professional dancers, one hour prior to the live music performance. Both, local and touring musical talent are invited to apply.

DOWNTOWN ART & FARMERS MARKET
Every Saturday Morning in Union Plaza (Anthony Street)

One of the newest year round attractions in the El Paso region is the Downtown Artist and Farmers Market. Located at the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) the market offers original arts and crafts, food vending, and entertainment from local artists and artisans in El Paso County.
