City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD)
The mission of the Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) is to assist in developing a world-class arts community in El Paso, Texas. To accomplish this goal the MCAD has established The Museums Division comprised of the El Paso Museum of Art, the El Paso Museum of Archaeology and the El Paso Museum of History, each dedicated to providing exhibitions and educational activities that recognize the region's multi-cultural heritage. The Cultural Affairs Division implements funding programs, public art programs, cultural tourism initiatives and performing/visual arts events that provide a variety of opportunities to engage in arts and cultural activities that enliven and celebrate the City of El Paso and the region. The Museums and Cultural Affairs Department is committed to the continued development of the City's arts industry, providing quality programs that are representative of the city's diverse cultures; and to maximizing available resources in order to enhance the City's cultural vitality.
Department of Education and Culture
The Department of Education and Culture of the Ciudad Juarez Municipal government is a governmental organization whose VISION is to improve the educational and cultural level of the city's residents through articulation, linkages, promotion and the application of actions that generate the development of cultural values with interaction between government and community.
Its MISSION is to promote existing cultural venues and projects in addition to rescuing abandoned infrastructure in this area and recognize and support the diverse cultural agents of the city.

Consulate General of México in El Paso
The
Consulate General of México in El Paso provides protection services
to Mexican citizens and documentation services to Mexicans and
foreigners. The Consulate also provides services targeting the
community of Mexican origin that includes education, health,
community organization and sports. Other services include cultural
and business promotion. The Consulate General of Mexico in El
Paso serves populations residing in West Texas and Southern
New Mexico.
El Paso Sun Metro
Sun Metro, the City Mass Transit Department, is one of the largest City departments with over 650 employees and an annual budget over $42 million dollars. Sun Metro offers Fixed Route and Paratransit within the El Paso city limits, portions of El Paso County and throughout the City of Sunland Park, New Mexico Job Express is another service of Sun Metro to support those individuals transitioning from welfare to work by providing transportation to job training, education, employment and childcare destinations.
At Sun Metro, fleet modernization and high priority capital projects are aggressively pursued to secure the future of the Mass Transit system. Sun Metro actively obtains funding to purchase new buses to ensure a continuum of service that meets current and future needs.
Effectiveness and efficiency is also enhanced by high priority capital projects that are expected to increase community partnerships and revenue streams. Exciting public initiatives include: International Terminal, Mesa Street Terminal, Mission Valley Terminal, Westside Terminal, Far Eastside Terminal, Great Streets, Transit Advertising, and Accessibility and shelter improvements.
The diversification of services will continue to allow Sun Metro to provide affordable service for the people of El Paso and surrounding areas.
El Paso Public Library Downtown
The El Paso Public Library was established in 1894 and is the longest continuously operating public library system in Texas. Today, our library system continues to provide local residents state of the art facilities and resources for literacy, information technology and lifelong learning. It is recognized nationally as an industry leader and stands as a testament to the progressive spirit of El Paso. The 2000 Quality of Life bond issue, passed overwhelmingly by voters, brought 4 brand new libraries to our city all of which will continue to inspire future generations of El Pasoans to greatness. We are proud to be the First Public Library of Texas.
El Paso County Historical Society
The El Paso County Historical Society is the premiere non-profit historical group in El Paso whose mission is to promote and preserve the history of the El Paso area and to"
- Study local El Paso and El Paso County History
- Foster local research
- Acquire and preserve historical documents and archives
- Make collections available to the public for research and information
- Encourage historical writing and publication
- Maintain and restore the Richard F. Burges House, home of the Society
Museum of History
The El Paso Museum of History exists for the educational benefit of the community and visitors. It promotes the understanding and significance of the rich multicultural and multinational history of the border region known as, “The Pass of the North.” Through exhibits and programs, the Museum involves diverse audiences in exploring varieties of human experience and encourages individuals to explore the past and reflect on their own place in history.
