Mayor Cook was recognized as the "Politician of the Year 2006" in appreciation for his outstanding service and contribution in the formulation of public policy by the National Association of Social Workers at their 2005-2006 Annual Awards Banquet held on Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Vista Hills Country Club.
