Mayor Cook was born on February 27th, 1946, Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Immaculata High School in 1964. John married his wife, Tram, in 1970. He attended the University of Texas at El Paso and earned a degree in business in 1977. He and his wife are the proud parents of six children; the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren; and soon to be proud great grandparents in December 2007 by their oldest granddaughter. The oldest is 24 years old and the youngest is one year old Alyssa who was born on May 3, 2006.
