Cielo Vista neighborhood one step closer to new branch
library
City Council unanimously approved the site for the new Cielo
Vista Branch Library today. The location will be on the east
side of Hawkins Blvd. between Darlina and Gazelle streets at
Vista del Valle Park. This action will allow the design
phase of the project to begin within a few weeks.
Located within walking distance of the Parks and Recreation
Multi-purpose Center, the new facility will be at least
7,000 square-feet and will feature a dedicated children’s
area, a multi-purpose room and wireless Internet access. The
new location will also provide ample parking and the
possibility of expansion in the future. The budget for the
project is 2.8 million dollars.
Bookmobile service will continue during the construction of

Library to begin bookmobile service to the Cielo Vista area
The El Paso Public Library will begin bookmobile service to
the Cielo Vista area on Thursday, September 6, 2007 from
9:30 am to 12:00 noon at the corner of Darlina Dr. and Worth
Ct. near the Parks and Recreation Multipurpose Center. The
Library bookmobile will make this stop a part of its weekly
schedule until a new library is built. Books can be reserved
online and picked up at the bookmobile and clicking on the
Catalog link.
