Cielo Vista Library Closure
 
The El Paso Public Library will work with City officials as well as with the Cielo Vista area residents to move forward on a plan to build a new library in the Cielo Vista neighborhood area.

The Library had been seeking a partnership with El Paso Community College to jointly operate a new library at an EPCC facility across the street from the previous Cielo Vista Branch location at 8929 Viscount.

After a recent public debate over proposed EPCC location, City Council voted to forgo the partnership deal with EPCC in favor of seeking a location more amenable to the Cielo Vista Neighborhood Association.
There is no timeline for completion yet, but planning will begin right away with the selection of an architect and/or engineer to do a needs assessment. This step should show what the facility needs to have, and will be a great way to involve the Cielo Vista Community as well as the library staff in the planning process.
