"Everything Shakespeare Ever Wrote (except Hamlet)"

The Outrageous Fortune Theatre Company's (OFTC) Teaching/Artists will present a new and uproarious introduction to the work of William Shakespeare. "Everything Shakespeare Ever Wrote (except Hamlet)" romps through 36 of Shakespeare’s plays inspired by the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr ( abridged).

The interactive style of OFTC gives children a wonderful imprint of the famous playwright and classic literature. This fast paced spoof offers a contemporary glimpse of Shakespeare’s canon geared for a young audience. Modern references abound, ranging from American Idol to Nickelodeon, to give relevance and understanding to a new generation of Shakespeare fans.

All of the plays Shakespeare wrote are at least mentioned by name during the 45-minute span of "Everything Shakespeare Ever Wrote (except Hamlet)". The most attention is given to Romeo & Juliet, Othello, Macbeth, and Julius Caesar. Notably missing from the action is Shakespeare’s greatest play, Hamlet, which OFTC is planning to present all by itself in 2009-2010. The performance will be followed by a question and answer session with the actors, so you may wish to help children prepare questions! OFTC’s Teaching/Artist program wants to give students a preview of all the wonderful Shakespeare that lies ahead of them and send them home with a smile and a positive impression.
About the Outrageous Fortune Theatre Company

OFTC was founded in 2004 by group of local theatre artists dedicated to excellence in performance and arts education to serve the community. The company began performing in schools and planned the first Shakespeare in the Park, which was performed free to the public in the Union Plaza Park in downtown El Paso in October of 2004. OFTC began touring with a performance at the Las Cruces Renaissance Faire and was asked to return in 2005. The company’s Teaching/Artist Program collaborated with the Chamizal National Memorial to bring children to the theatre in 2005 to see the outrageously funny TIS SHAKESPEARISH and this program was selected for the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Roster for 2006-2008. In August 2006, the annual Shakespeare in the Park found a new home at the Chamizal National Memorial, El Paso’s National Park and will perform there again August 24, 25, 26,30 and 31, 2007.
