Thank You
Jesus for the Birds
My name is K-----n
and I am happy to say,
I live in a house not far away.
In the backyard the birds
live in a tall pine tree.
Early
morning Jesus tells the birds to sing to me.
Thank you
Jesus for their beautiful song,
it reminds me to pray to you all day long.

Untitled
A little pig
who wore a wig
loved to think
about everything pink.
She smelled the
flowers
with many colors
and liked to sing
as she swung from her swing.
She was so small
she had to stand tall
to reach her food
which tasted so good
warm in her tummy
making her say yummy, yummy
At night in her
little bed
she read her pink book
and then took a look
to peek out at the moon
for it was time to sleep soon.

A friend is

Outstanding root that he is
But, he does not do your homework

Pearl Harbor
At Pearl Harbor
there were booms and bangs
It was tragic to
lose such powerful ships
The Japanese
used all kinds
of sneaky tricks
The men and
ships we lost
are very bad to our cause
Some people pay
their
respects on that tragic day
And that seems
fitting
for the men and ships
We lost on
that sad day

Lost
Button
I’m a lost
button
On the bathroom floor.
Nobody notices me,
But everybody steps on me.
I’m small,
But alone
On the cold
Dust filled
Floor.
I was once a
button
On Misty’s blue sweater.
But now
I’m just lost
And lonely.
I’m a lost button
On the classroom floor.
I’m just a button
Lost and
Cold.

Teachers
Teachers are
here.
Teachers are there.
Teachers seem to be everywhere.
When I look to the sides.
When I turn my back
I see teachers, oh my!
There is no escaping them.
I want to sigh!
Ring!
School is over.
No more teachers to see today.
I am going home to play.

Mrs.Carrasco is
always smiling
She is the best teacher in the whole wide
World.
I’m always wondering if one day

Almost all I know she
Taught me.

Metaphorically Speaking
I was...
a star shining in the dark,
a leopard as fast as lightning
a brown eagle as brave as a wolverine.
Then I became...
As long as a crocodile,
As cool as the ice in the Arctic,
As sticky as a spider web.
Now I am...
Soft like the skin on a shark,
As fierce as a lion when it roars,
As nice as a puppy,
As smart as a dolphin in the sea.

The Lost Girl
I look at you
and there I am lost in this world,
no where to go,
out in street sleeping in a small box,
with her stuffed fox,
can you help me, is the look on her face,
wishing she had a fireplace,
eating garbage,
that’s not the way,
need some help is what I say,
tears streaming down her face,
this is such a sad,
sad case.

Tragedy in New York
Twin Towers
disappear faster
than the speed of light.
People inside the twin towers
were yelling for their lives.
People outside were watching
how the Twin Towers fell from the beautiful sky,
while the loved ones were at home
crying for their special ones.
“Why did this need to happen?”, a woman said.
Osama bin Laden planning to destroy more.
Americans won’t give up.
We will win the war.

This is How I Live
Gun shots going
out at night I hear
this everyday.
People pointing guns at people and
blowing off their heads.
Police sirens going off every second

Moms yelling because dads are leaving

I am already used to this because
this is how I live.

Daddy
I thought you
cared about me daddy,
Don’t you know what it is to be alone?
About what you
did to me daddy,
Don’t worry I’ve been strong.
I’ve grown up
daddy,
And I have realized it wasn’t my fault.
I loved you so
much daddy,
That’s why I couldn’t see.
Bruises and
pain daddy,
They can’t heel.
Don’t worry
daddy,
I’ll forgive you.
There is
sometimes daddy,
When I need someone to talk to.
Why did you
let alcohol take you away?
Why did you get into that stuff daddy?
Did you love it more than me?
Was it that
daddy,
That made you hate me so much?
In all cases I
understand now, daddy.
Two questions though...
I will forgive
you.
Will you forgive me?
I will never
forget you.
Will you forget me?

Afraid
Burning into my soul with words I can’t describe.
You hurt me so deeply, made me feel unalive.
I thought that it was going well,
I guess it went too fast.
I wanted to be your best friend,

We used to be inseparable,
No one could tear us apart;
Until you met someone else,
You completely shattered my heart.

Silence
As I walk
through the trees there is nothing,
but silence
There are no birds chirping,
no woodpeckers pecking.
I hear nothing, but my footsteps
going CRUNCH as I step on leaves.
I look around, but only see green trees.
I stop and listen, but there is no sound.
“Am I going deaf?” I wondered.
I wanted to speak, but the silence
was as sweet as candy.
I didn’t want it to go away.
I keep on walking. No one there.
Just me and
Silence.

SPLASH!
out of nowhere

laughing getting mad
Lights go on parents screaming GO INSIDE!

balloons scattered everywhere
towels are passed around
another night comes anxiously

Breathing Melody
I am a song.
My life a symphony,
An orchestra of notes,
A range of dynamics.
The rhythm as steady as rain.
This is my melody.
I am a song.
The beauty uncanny,
While flooded with sorrow;
Still gay with thanksgiving,
Dragging one moment, fleet the next.
This is my melody.
I am a song.
There is no felony,
For the adversity,
It makes a harmony;
An exiting yet tiresome tune.
This is my melody...

Slow Things are Beautiful
And slow things are beautiful
Like the
closing of day
As a golden
sun sets
And you’re
left to go on your way
And slow
things are beautiful
Like going
through life
Taking
problems as they come
Not living in
strife
And slow
things are beautiful
Like falling
in love
Letting go of
yourself
Without push
or shove
And slow
things are beautiful
Like the
journeys we take
Remembering
to watch the view
For our own
sake
And slow
things are beautiful
Like the
closing of day
And although
it’s not promised
Tomorrow’s
not far away.

The Feeling of Love
I can’t believe
I fell for someone like you
But you saw the real me and made my life true
You take my breath away with every step you take
My love for you could never be a mistake
You take me from
the world and make me feel safe
I will love you for a lifetime no matter how much it will take
You have touched me everywhere through our years
I want to be with you to cry, laugh, and conquer fears
When I am with
you I never feel alone
It often feels like together our hearts are sewn
I experience unlimited nirvanas when I am with you
When we are together my world is exultant and never blue
I look into your
deep brown eyes and fall more in love
I watch my heart flutter away on a silk white dove
When you come into my vision I have stars in my eyes
As a new day begins while we watch the sun rise

The Wind in My Hair

Falling Open
Books fall open
and you fall in.
Everything will now begin.
It’s time to take an awesome ride,
Don’t shrink back or duck or hide.
Columbus sailed the ocean blue,
Join right in, he’ll take you too.
Hunt a bear with Daniel Boone,
Or wear a hat from the skin of a ‘coon.
Visit the famous cherry tree,
And watch the British as they flee.
Jump from a plane as you speed along,
Or climb up by the great King Kong.
Queens and kings will throw you a ball,
Just don’t dare miss the Taj Mahal.
Better see the Martian ships,
And join the circus with your double, back flips.
Then out you go, out you fly,
Set down your book and say goodbye.
Tomorrow is another day,
You’ll come again and again you’ll play.

PMS
I saw PMS
clearly
Her cherry red hair slapped my face
As she jerked around
She was young and healthy
With a look on her face full of
Attitude
I stared into her dark black eyes,
Swirling with conflicting emotions
Rage, sorrow, confusion...
“Excuse you!” she said in a voice full off
Attitude
Catching me off guard –
I was still entranced by her eyes
“Sorry,” I quickly replied. “I didn’t mean to bump into you.”
“Yeah sure,” she retorted in that same bitterly sarcastic tone.
She shoved her way past me
Walking as if she owned the world
Daring anyone to come near her

The World is Mine
Today, upon a
bus, I saw a very beautiful woman.
And whished I were as beautiful.
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, she passed a smile.
God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two legs
The world is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy.
The boy who sold it had such charm.
I talked to him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it’d do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me, “I thank you,
You’ve been so kind.
It’s nice to talk with folks like you.
You see,” he said, “I’m blind.”
God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes
The world is mine.
Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child I knew.
He stood and watched the other kids play,
But he did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
“Why don’t you join them dear?”
He looked ahead without a word.
I forgot, he couldn’t hear.
God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears
The world is mine.
With feet to take me where I go.
With eyes to see the sunset’s glow.
With ears to hear what I know.
God, forgive me when I whine.
I’ve been blessed indeed,
The world is mine.

Precious Stone
That’s what he
called me,
His precious stone.
The creator of eternity.
The One who people reject and
In spite of their hate,
He protects each and every day.
He calls you his precious stone.
You! When you’ve blamed him
For your suffering and pain,
When you ignore, that the breath you
took this morning, came from him.
Precious stone is what he calls us.
Every time we cry lonely, feeling that
No one understands; he moves his
Mighty Angels aside saying,
“I understand, I’ve been there before –
A long time ago.”
The One who created the stars and
knows each one of them by name.
The One who is so great, he
Can hold the sea in the palm of
His mighty hand.
The mysterious, sovereign God
Loves me in my weakness,
Loves you in your doubt,
Loves us in Our pain,
And calls us his precious stones.

I Am
I am the silver,
flowing tears and the bright, smiles filled
with laughter of the
people in this precious world,
I wonder what the world would be like with world peace and unity,
I hear the wind picking up the rustling leaves of serenity,
I see a world full of happiness, tears, and agony;
I want people to be free, to be who they are.
I am young and hopeful,
I pretend that the world is going forward instead of backwards
when dealing with equalities,
I feel hope for our world and its people,
I hope that everyone tries his or her hardest,
I worry for the forgotten and lost,
I fear the hatred that people have because of a different religion.
I am the voice for the people who need it the most,
I understand how precious life is,
I say that faith can help us all,
I know that if a few people help, things could change;
I dream of people putting aside their differences and getting along,
I am the new generation of hopeful peacemakers.

Mamá
Una persona muy
dulce,

Será mi amigo;

Éste a veces duele y lastima,
no te sentirás tan deprimido si tú tienes autoestima.

Y ¿quién lo come?
Lo comen las montañas y las nubes

Y ¿a quién calienta?

Los pétalos de

Te agradezco a

Yo soy libre y espiritual.
Yo pretendo
encontrar la cura para el cáncer
Y otras enfermedades.
Yo me enojo cuando lastiman a cualquier ser vivo;
Yo soy libre y espiritual.
