Months of the Year
January has snowflakes falling
from the sky, and snowmen waving
goodbye, February brings rain and
chilly days.
March brings pollen
and pansies, too.
April brings
the good time sweet, and also
some heat.
May brings
Happiness and laughter, too.
June brings
sun and lake time along with
fun.
July brings trees
and cooling showers.
August brings tubing behind the boat,
and September brings
beautiful sunsets and
big orange moons.
October brings waterfalls
and fishermen, too.
November brings
fat turkeys and pilgrims too.
December is the end
of the year but it has
the best of full moons.

My Fish
Little fish, how are you?
Because I’m fine. I wish you can talk.
Your eyes are big, your mouth is small.
You are my best friend.
If you could talk what
Would your answer be
if I ask you this question. Do you want to
be my friend? If you
say no, I still be your
best friend for ever
and ever. But if you say yes, I will be
very, very happy!
If you would like to
Ask the same question
to me, I would say
Yes!
Do you like rhyming
words? Because I do
and I can show you some examples:
1. bed-red
2. heart-cart
3. bag-tag
4. dish-fish
5. log-frog
6. bag-tag
7. like-bike
Now do you like them?
Love you little fish,
Good bye!

When People are Happy
When people are happy.
The trees are green.
The sky is blue.
The leaves fall.
I feel the beautiful wind.
I see you.
I call you.
The waterfall goes on.
And the sky is so, so blue.
The dolls are happy.
The people smile.
Children play games.
People are very happy and grateful
When people are happy.

Future of Memories
The past is beautiful
like a jewel you hold,
with lots of memories
that you remember and told.
The future is like a mystery
nobody can tell you
how to solve it.
if you knew how to solve it;
that could be the end
of the history.
I like to solve mysteries
so I can have lots of memories….

Three Strange Friends
Once there was a big brown dog,
sitting on a big round log.
He looked so happy in the fog,
drinking his ice cold eggnog.
Then came along a little mouse,
who ran past the dog and into the house.
Followed by a big black cat,
who wore a big yellow hat.
The dog, who was acting like a hog,
chased the cat with the hat,
that chased the mouse into the house.
Then the three, went out by the tree,
and they all did agree,
that they were strange friends indeed.

Instruments
The trumpet is yellow.
I really want some Jell-O.
The piano is so big,
I think I need a wig.
I never knew a violin was so small,
so I bumped into a wall.
I love the sound of the harp,
but the point of it is really sharp.
The guitar is like a banjo
and the banjo smells like mango.
The sound is high and low, the drums
make the sound that flows.

I Am Like a Little Flower
I am like a little flower that is

All the things I am learning this year

As I turn my soft new petals

because I know
learning can be fun…

Green,

Clouds
I wonder how the clouds feel?
Do they feel like cotton candy all
sticky and soft or like a furry
bunny rabbit?
Maybe they feel like a baby bear
cub or like a cotton ball.
I would just like to go up to the
sky and touch the clouds just to
see how they feel, and what they
are made of.

A Cat Named Joe
I saw a cat
Wearing a green hat
No, a purple hat instead
Then I found it was a blue hat sitting on his head.
Cats with hats
On a fence so blue
They were stuck to the fence like paper and glue
I pulled one off
What a miserable sight
I decided to take him home for the night.
I called him Joe
He started to play in the snow
I don’t think there’s a wackier cat
That I know.

Snowflakes
White twinkling birds
flying in the air,
gracefully swaying from side to side.
I shiver while I watch them.
I sit by the windowsill until all is quiet
just watching.
I sit there still as a tree.
Just waiting to hear
a thump, crash, crackly, or a little noise.
Still, I wait and hear nothing
Why can’t I hear them, I ask myself?
Are they uttering a language I don’t understand?
I will never know.

Life’s Treasures
Life’s treasures are friends, but not money.
All money brings is greed and hate.
Money cannot show how it cares for you.
Friends can.
Money does not have a heart.
Friends do.
Friends are always there to cheer you up when you are blue.
Money is not.
People may not have money or true riches.
But their kindness and friendship is the true treasure.
Do not let looks alarm you.
What is in the heart is what counts, not what appears on the body.
Without friends what would you do all day?
Friends are life’s treasures.

Get Away, Be Free!
It takes only seconds,
to get away,
and leave our lives behind.
To go to Germany, China, or France,
in just a stroke of a brush,
sway of a pencil.
Create your own special place,
where you make your dreams come true,
and do away with your nightmares.
The only limit is the edges of the paper,
but there is still plenty of room,
to let your imagination run wild.
It’s not only a drawing,
not only a painting,
it’s you on a canvas.
your feelings and emotions.
just look at your pictures,
what do they say about you?

On the Contrary…
Although I wasn’t always a little angel, I wasn’t always bad.
I was not as quiet as a mime,
I usually was boisterous all the time.
I used to be too deafening with my gleeful shout,
And I sometimes had to be told just to plain get out.
On the contrary…
I could occasionally be no louder than a mouse,
And from time to time you heard no sound in the house.
But, there is one thing I never do,
Is make it last forever for you.
Once in a while I was a bad little boy,
And it was nearly ever so often I broke a toy.
At times I was mischievous and very misled,
I don’t know, maybe, there was something in my head.
On the contrary…
I was often very well behaved, as you could see,
I was as well mannered as you’d think I’d be.
And it was as appealing to the naked eye,
That at times I just couldn’t lie.
It was not infrequently that I disagreed,
At the things you would not get me that you knew I did not need.
I hated the times you said I was not right,
But I knew correctness is not always in sight.
On the contrary…
I knew you were just doing me well,
Just teaching me how to act, was swell.
You are as gentle and caring as a dove,
And all that you did was out of love.
Were these people my grandparents, aunts, or uncles watching over
thee?
No, they are my parents, and they are here for me.

The Dawning of Time
As the years pass by,
some remember
the horrible,
the miserable times
As the years pass by,
some remember
the good,
the beautiful,
the wondrous.
The dawning of time
comes, goes
come, goes
inhales, exhales
inhales, exhales
Repeating memories
some horrible,
some good, some miserable,
some beautiful,
some wondrous
The dawning of time
inhales and exhales keeping
the world alive.

Silently
Disturbed
Bleeding hands,
parched lips,
cracked feet,
Silent am I.
Thirsty,
I ask for water.
I feel the burning whip.
Silent am I.
Blazing sun,
hot sweat,
aching back,
Silent am I.
A hungry stomach,
throbbing head
I can’t go on
Silent am I. |
Tonight is the
night
I have dreamed of.
I will escape.
Silent am I.
All are sleeping,
I stay awake.
The sun goes down.
Silent am I.
Racing through the vacant fields,
the sun comes up.
I feel the warmth.
Silent am I.
The day is new.
I am new.
I am free!
Silent am I.

Animals
If I was a cat,
I would play with an old smelly hat,
And chase a small gray rat,
And sleep all day in a barn full of hay.
By lifting myself on my strong 10 toes,
As high as I would go,
So I can dance with the rain.
Anything is possible.

Myself
I honor my life, for my life is a
wonderful thing
I honor how I learned to read
I honor by ABC’s
I honor my adding and subtracting
I honor how I know not to lie.
I honor how I tell nothing but the truth.
And if I think hard enough
I can imagine myself changing history.
And if you ask me why, I will simply
reply: Because I honor myself.

By the Big White House
I be sitting here, by the big white house,
chewin' old tobacco, just to spit it out,
to kill the bugs that be pests, just like a mouse.
That all I be good for, says Jones himself.
While I be alone in the garden, by the big white house,
chewin' my tobacco, and spitting it out,
I think of Jones, the old louse,
making me sit here all day long in the hot sun.
As I be sittin' here with my tobacco, I look and listen,
I see their son reading a book as his mother listens,
as he reads, his eyes glisten.
I know that I’ll never read, whatever its benefits are.
Now, as dusk draws near,
the men come in from the cotton fields,
their complaints I can hear,
as they walk to the shack.
I put the tobacco in my pocket and go inside the shack,
and I think about what I’d do if I escaped,
one thing is for sure, I’d never come back,
just the same as any other slave on this plantation.
In the shack, we huddle together to eat dinner,
we have cornbread and milk in a long trough,
people push and shove, so the strongest is the winner.
It’s quite messy, but it’s only food.
As the smallest children lick out the last crumbs,
and the rest of us go to our sleeping mats,
mammy tucks us in and hums,
she hums a soothing tune.
|
As we all settle down in our beds,
and the lights die out,
we rest our weary heads.
Some talk, but most sleep.
Some talk for a while,
but those are few.
Most of us lay in a big pile,
we do that for warmth and comfort.
As the sun rises for a new day,
all of us rise and get ready for work.
We work like this every day without pay,
all for old man Jones.
Jones is a cruel master,
he always treats us bad,
our lives are a disaster,
and this plantation is too.
We walk outside and Jones cracks the whip.
and the men march out to the fields,
and if he gives his wrist a flip,
the men follow without a word.
I walk on back,
to the big white house,
and I realize what white folk lack,
the one thing we have more of.
They lack desire.
Desire for freedom is what I have.
It stays inside me like a burning fire,
for without a fire, there’s no desire.
As the sun rises on another day,
I can only hope and pray,
that in this torture, for long, I will not stay.
For somehow, some way, I’ll make it away from here one day.

To My Papa
you cradled me in your arms
your arms like the branch on our tree
the tree you described so perfectly
in a lullaby you used to sing to me
your voice like the wind running through the land
I know to call home
where my roots have grown so deep into
and the spirit you raised, strong as stone
the lessons you taught me, still remembered
and the humor I never forgot
for the priceless stories you shared with me
and advice you always brought
I know that the heart which beats for me
is not my own, but yours
and the life which thrives inside of me
is you and you alone
when comfort is needed and you’re not around,
I look at your eyes in the mirror
your eyes on my face: such a beautiful reminder
of who I am and who put me here
I love you not from what you have
said, or done, or seen, or heard,
but I love you from the way you make apples taste sweeter
and for molding me into the T--------- I have become

Life As I Know It
The life that I live
Has never harshly been altered,
I’ve always known the same lifestyle,
My basic routine has never faltered.
But how would life be,
If a major world war would begin,
How would I cope
Starting life all over again?
How could I manage
To have someone else rule me?
Take away all my freedoms,
And tell me who or what I could be?
What if someone was to restrict me
On who I could befriend or even know,
What would happen if this is how
The whole world would have to go?
What I’m really trying to say
Is that because of the men and women before me,
Who worked and fought hard to bring me what I have today,
I am able to look forward in my life and be free.
I will try with all my heart and life
To give back to them what I owe,
To help build a better world
That they themselves began building so.
I will never forget what has been give to me
From the hard work and ideas of my preceding countrymen,
And I can only hope that with their examples and teachings,
I could have give back something to them in the end.

You might have seen me down in Spain.
Running down the Spanish plains.
Or beside the seas of Barcelona.
Living like the seagulls do;
Summer to summer; done to done.
Watching as the tide went rolling over.
Throughout Europe’s windows you might have seen me.
Down in the park where the sun shines Sunday
And no wind rattles the trees till Monday.
Where statues stand alone and forlorn.
In memory of generals forgotten and gone.
A riderless horse trots home in the dawn.
Its lucky yesterdays hero fell on the lawn.
I was a soldier then and played at soldier games.
You should have seen me then; the general knew my name.

Honor the Past, Imagine the Future
Honor the past, imagine the future,
Listen to the melancholic rhythm
of the clock leading our lives,
tick, tock, tick, tock
Honor Elizabeth Cady Stanton and
Susan B. Anthony,
The true heroes were born in the
past and are contained in the
future,
Imagine the past and honor the present,
what will ye are if our present pride
be vanished?
What will it be if the past were a
dream in us ready to crackly in
forgetfulness?
What will life be if we are to forget
the past, destroy the future and not
live the present!

Honor the Past & Imagine the
Future
It’s a windy day,
the sun is up
and by the way grandpa’s up.
He’s reminiscing of days gone by,
while drinking this Canada Dry.
In his rocking chair he sits up straight,
while we all sit and wait.
He remembers long days and short nights,
and all the things that caused him fright.
Like picking cotton and discrimination,
low wages during the depression.
Hard times must be let go,
because the future we do not know.
So out with the old and in with the new,
kick out that old shoe,
For tomorrow will be brand new.

Farewell, My Dreams
Farewell, my dreams
For I no longer have room for
childhood make believe and pretending
For I will soon forget you tomorrow.
Farewell, my dreams
For I will no longer pursue you
Because I am too old to follow.
Farewell, my dreams
For my life is full of adversity, as sad as it may be,
I have no time for you.
Farewell, my dreams
For every time I called upon you, you left me to
Reality in which people are cold-blooded and phony.
Farewell, my dreams
I can no longer accept the dreams you give me,
but you constantly refuse to give me what I
want to dream.
Farewell, my dreams,
For we are diverse and we will soon
Forget each other tomorrow and once again
we will be filled with happiness and mirth.
Farewell, my dreams
For I will now depart into the darkness of
this world and trespass along the valley
of confusion and mishap. |
Farewell, my dreams
For I hope I will not regret my decision
of abandoning you, you who are my hopes
my dreams of what could have been.
Farewell, my dreams
For we will meet again someday,
when we are older and wiser, when no one
can mistake us as being absurd.
Farewell, my dreams
For now I must grow up, as my childhood
has now been fading, but wait! –
I will always reminisce my childhood,
and there my dreams will be.
Farewell, my dreams
The world can wait, so I can continue to
stay with you. I apologize to you, for I
have been exceedingly rude. I need my
dreams to survive for you are my life,
my breath, my soul, and everything that I am.
Farewell, my dreams
For I will soon see you tonight while I sleep,
tomorrow, and all of eternity, and even
after death.

Honor the Past and Imagine the Future
Youth in the past,
Age in the future,
Time moves fast
Within life’s moving picture.
Honor past heroes,
Imagine future seats,
When the human heart beats,
As dreams of tomorrow.
Gimmicks and inventions,
Writings of fairy-tale fiction,
O great General Washington and Liberator Lincoln,
Both held great words and power of past which have no end.
Prophecies and olden promises,
The stream of time flows,
With fate’s hand guiding crystal boats,
Filled with dreams of tomorrow.
Honor the past,
History teaches,
Imagine the future,
For we are creators.

Honor the Past, Imagine the Future
Who are we?
We are today, we are the reason, and we are free.
Who are they?
They are the brave, they are the conquerors, they are the ones who
died.
They fought for right, for peace, and for justice.
Why do we stand?
We stand to honor, we stand for them.
We stand for freedom, justice, and liberty.
Where do we go?
We go to tomorrow, we go to build, and we go with our heads high.
We go hand in hand, brother to brother.
Why do we walk?
We walk to unite, not to fight.
We walk for our future generations.
We walk because of who we are.

Behind the Mask
Behind my mask there are many sorrows,
Which are hidden by my smiles.
My grandfather’s crash,
my grandmother’s death,
and my parent’s divorce.
all these are hidden behind my mask.
When I was young,
A plane flew
the engine blew,
with my grandfather aboard.
It hit the ground,
making a pound, adding a sheet to my mask.
My grandmother died,
of an unknown disease.
My mask had a thicker coat,
because I was closer to her.
When these people died,
My parent’s love bid good-bye,
for they were what held my parents together.
And so you see
Why my mask is so deep.
My soul can never understand
What my mind must endure.

Before and After
Before when we were little things were very different.
Before all we wanted to do was play dodge ball.
Now all we want to do is go to parties
Before all we wanted to do is ride our bikes.
Today we like the same but only in cars.
Before a dollar was all we needed.
Today fifty dollars is barely enough.
Back then I used to wear 10 dollar shoes.
Today we wear 120 dollar shoes.
Back then we use to talk inside your house with your phone.
Today people talk on the car with cellular phones everywhere.
Back then girls were ugh.
Today you see a girl you go ummm.
It’s very different back then and today.
It’s like two diverged roads.

“Honor the past, imagine the future”
(“The One”)
High above in the life of love,
I seek for the one I once lost,
Remember the past of the laughs and cry’s,
I can’t imagine thy darling face,
Of the one I once loved,
It’s good to know that he is still here,
Although his face I will never see,
Thy shadow of light has gone away,
Gone away to the land of glorious face,
It’s weird to feel the absence of love,
Don’t worry I won’t say bye,
But I will say farewell,
Farewell loved one,
You will always be the once I once loved.

You
Shall I compare thee to a lovely dream
No, thou are more real and simply free
Thy dream a torture it always seems
Awake, you bring forever love and glee
Woe to your passion that has ripped my soul
No harm caused my love, thy heart you have spared
Pity a man who can never be rich
But can give thee eternal happiness
Soon my weak patience will fade inch by inch
Stay or let thy life pass in great madness
My life cannot continue without you
This love shall never vanish, this is true

Love Sonnet 817
Shall I coincide thee with sacrifice?
Infinite tears, grasping hope, breathing pain,
Shunning the sweet surrender in our eyes.
Reminisce, give a chance; only brings rain.
Shall I coincide thee with frustration?
Sleepless passion, chocolate, fading health.
Leave my heart on a ground of contemption.
Forget the heart of riches, forget wealth.
Shall I coincide thee with confusion?
You miss me, you love me, then you hate me,
An ocean of infinite illusions.
Blind me, reject us, but let our love free.
Let it soar between our souls, let truth be.
I love you, sacrifice and please love me.

City of Apples
Confusion, Crime supremely reign at heart.
The architecture of design you hold
puzzles my brain. Fumes rise from hot dog carts
and fill the air with nauseous smells so bold.
A taxi cab flies by and nearly takes
my insignificant life. Famous stars
pass poor people and their cardboard house shakes
with every passing of the subway cars.
But, I long for the city that never
sleeps, and the harbor where liberty stands.
The flashing lights of Broadway forever
remains with the applause of many hands,
And now as you all hear and all will see
my love lies forever in NYC

Comida pero no apetito; adornos, pero no simpatía;

No vayas a cambiar,
Nuestra conversación nunca fue una desilusión
Se regresas vamos a jugar.
Si deseas vamos a otra lugar,
A divertinos y a bailar,

familia.
Eso te lo juro no lo voy a cambiar por nada ni
por nadie.
Con amor a mi abuelo Florencio.

Magnifico Pasado, Hermoso Futura
Aprende de el pasado
Planea el futuro
Si ya estas cansado
No te preocupes, no es muy duro
Aprende de tus abuelos
Enseña a tus nietos

Tierra

ojos.
Yo me pregunto, y me pregunto.

Me dejas casi ciego.

Honra El Pasado
Imagina El Futuro
NUESTROS ANTEPASADOS FUERON UNAS
GRANDES PERSONAS O MEJOR AUN FUERON
MARAVILLOSOS. ALGUNOS DIERON LA VIDA
POR LA PATRIA OTROS DESCURBRIEROR NUEVAS
TIERRAS. TODOS NUESTROS ANTEPASADOS
DEVEN SER HONRADOS O MEJOR AUN
HOMENAGEADOSPOR CADA UNO DE
NOSOTROS. NO IMPORTA SI FUERON ALGUIEN
LA VIDA O SI HICIERION ALGO POR LA
HUMANIDAD LO QUE IMPORTA ES QUE
PERTENECIERON EN UNA SIERTA EPOCA QUE
CAMBIO EL MADO DE VIDA. SIN SUS ECHOS NO
PUDIÉRAMOS LLEGODO HASTA AQUÍ. NUESTRO
FUTURO DEPENDE MUCHO DE LOS ACTOS DE
NUESTROS ANTEPASADOS Y AFORTUNADMENTE
UNOS FUERON BUENOS ECHOS Y OTROS NO TAN
BUENOS. NUESTRO PASADO Y EL FUTURO VAN
DE LA MANO. CADA UNO DE NOSOTROS
TENEMOS LA AVILIDAD DE HACER ALGO POR
ALGUIEN DIGA CON ORGULLO Y CON
HONOROSIDAD QUE TUVIERON UNOS
ANTEPASADOS QUE CAMBIARON LA
HUMANIDAD.

problemas.
