The American Soldier
Nobody likes to leave home,
And make a family cry.
Nobody likes to leave home,
And Possibly die.
All American people sleep safe at night,
Because of you.
Fighting for what is right, to you,
The American soldier.
For everything you must suffer,
We salute you.

Y escucha a tu corazón.

Madre e hija, aire y ola, inseparables.

El Sol
Que bonito sol, que alegría cuando
Te veo salir por las mañanas.
Los pájaros cantan de alegría por
Un nuevo día.
Las flores se ven hermosas cuando
Les das tu calor.
Las mariposas vuelan a tu alrededor
Con alegría.
Que bonito sol, que bonito día
Síguenos iluminando con tu luz que
Nos da vida.

Life Goes, Life
Comes
Life goes, life comes
When people die
Another one is born
Every year a human is born
Or every day a human dies
That's how
Life goes, life comes

Weeping Willow
Weeping willow don’t you cry
Someday you won’t be shy
Someday those tears will
Fly away.
Weeping willow
I know you’re a tree
But you can be like me
Graceful and glee.

Peace
Shrieking gasps that plead mercy,
Cracks of gunfire echoing from the outside,
Dried and cracked blood splotching the ground,
Then forgotten as the dust is lifted away, carried by the
wind,
Souls haunting the parched land,
Screaming vengeance against the invaders.
Hatred built on foundations of murders,
Dim eyes flutter to look ahead,
Men come in everyday with uniforms and guns,
Morals and humanity lost between shouted orders,
They all keep silence and wait,
Wait until night is surrounded with sounds of peace.

Monster Under My Bed
There is a monster under my bed
He is big and furry and red.
On top of his head are pointy crowns
And on his scary face sits frowns.
I think he’s scared under my bed
And I’m worried that he never gets fed.
I know he’s smelly without a bath
But I will lead him down the right path.
I’ll feed him his favorite food
And wash him up real good.
He will stay in my room forever more
Happily, playing games upon my floor.

Shopping
Shopping, shopping,
I HATE shopping.
I’d rather see a frog hopping,
Or be mopping,
Just as long as I don’t go shopping.
Here is one reason I don’t go shopping!
When my mother shops,
It’s like she never stops.
There are too many things on her list,
A car, some soap, and some tootsie roll-pops.
I’m getting so sick of this,
I’m going to call the cops.
That ought to make her stop.

La Mariquita
En un hermoso día de primavera
Me sorprendió ver una mariquita
En el rosal de mi abuelita
Estaba comiendo unas hojitas
Se veía muy asustadita
Regreso volando a su casita
Y dejo sus lagrimitas

I can read a book
I can try to cook
I can swim in a lake
And I can try to bake
I can jump and hop
I can even try to mop
I can hit a ball
And I can do it all

Friends
I like my friend’s kindness.
Together we feel cool.
Especially when we play at school.
When we are together we rule.
We also enjoy storytelling.
Especially when we are tired of playing.
I love to be with my friends.
But above all,
My sister and mother are the best of all.

Long Was the Road
Long was the road
They traveled to Bethlehem,
City of David.
The wind was sharp,
And the air was cold,
On the road to Bethlehem.
The Child was heavy.
The mother was tired,
And the road was long
The night grew darker
As they entered the city,
Bethlehem in Judah.
The innkeeper was sorry
To turn them out,
For there was no room.
The stable was smelly.
The animals were sleepy,
And the night was cold.
The young mother groaned
As the Babe slipped
Onto the hay.
He gently laid the Child
Into the animal manger,
So small and sweet
Out in the fields,
Shepherds looked after
Their flocks that night.
The angelic host
Sang of the blessed arrival
Of the Messiah, Savior, King.
Rejoice and be glad.
It that has been prophesied
Has now taken place.
Long was the road
That led to Calvary,
Skull Hill |
The cross was heavy,
And the splinters dug
Into His torn flesh.
The soldiers marched Him up the road,
Never minding His blood,
His bruises, and His stripes.
The people gathered in the streets.
Confused, shocked, shouting, and crying,
They watched Him go to Calvary.
The hammer pounded,
And the nails drove through
His wrists and feet.
The crowd looked on.
His mother shuddered
As His cross was jarred upright.
His last words
Echoed through the throng,
“Into Your hands I commit My spirit.”
The sky darkened.
The ground shook,
And the curtain tore in two.
They hoisted His body off of the cross,
So mangled and torn for us,
And placed Him in a tomb.
Three days later,
The stone was rolled back,
And He arose.
He arose and is victorious
Over sin and death.
He was the ultimate Sacrifice.
The disciples ran
To tell the good news
Of the Messiah, Savior, King.
The lamb has been slaughtered.
Our offences can be forgiven,
Forever.

My Dad!!
When I was born, one week later,
God took my dad away.
Yes, I know I was still small,
But I didn’t know him.
But now, I know that he was a special man,
And I’m proud of being his son.
I miss him a lot
That I would love for him to come back.
So that is why I’m writing this poem,
For him to hear what I’m saying about him.
I love you Dad,
And I miss you too.

Now All Alone
While summer is ending I feel all alone
No more eating ice cream
Not even the cone
Green leaves on the trees to
Orange on the ground
When you look carefully
There are no kids around
When a small thought hits my head
I suddenly realized that the end of
Summer is the best

Daydream
Flying upon the breathless wind
Free from worry and earthly sin
Soaring through a sea of white
All my troubles gone from sight
Reaching for the sun above
Hoping for its golden love
Flying upon the breathless wind
Free from worry and earthly sin
Like the bird – I am free
No sorrow – only glee
But deep within my heart and mind
There is something I can not find
A bird soars in a sea of white
All its troubles gone from sight
It flies upon a breathless wind
Free from worry and earthly sin
And here I sit upon the ground
Listening to its heavenly sound
Forever lost in a sea of white
Seeing dreams within my sight
Reaching for the sun above
I hope for one’s golden love…

One Wish, A Wish
One wish is what everyone needs.
A wish that all would get along.
One wish is that we all could succeed.
A wish that we could sing a song.
One wish that the penniless could one day fly in a plane.
A wish that we could all be happy.
A wish, just one wish that needs to come true.

Peace
Love is the color of a lovely, peaceful rainbow.
Love sounds like a bluebird.
Love tastes like red cherry pie.
Love looks like a field of red, delicate hearts.
Love smells like dark, brown chocolate.

The Desert
Many animals of the desert
Used to live here as they pleased.
The Indians used to live here
Before their land was seized.
The desert stretched for miles and miles
Not much in sight.
All you can hear are the coyotes howl at night.
The sun of the desert is very hot
All you can see is a big red dot.
The desert can be very dry,
But at least you can look up
At the beautiful blue sky.
The desert is full of sand
It practically dries up the whole land.
