The Park
On February 22, 1992,
My family
Decided to go
To the park.
We
Took
A lot
Of food.
We
Were sitting
On a bench
Eating
Peacefully
When
Suddenly
The sprinklers went off.
My little sister
Jumped
And sat
On the sprinkler.
Now
Every year
We drive to the park
And
Sit on the same bench
And
My sister sits
On the same sprinkler
And we all laugh.

White Sands
One day
I went
To White Sands.
I saw
A beetle
Walking.
I decided to follow it,
Up
A huge
Mountain
Of white
Sand.
Suddenly
It stopped.
I wondered why.
So
I
Waited
To see.
Then
I saw it
Getting an ant
Out of a hole.
Now
Each July 21st
I like
To celebrate
By going out
To the sand
And looking
For beetle and ants.

Sol
Sol, sol, sol, estas solito porque nadie
Te puede tocar,
Pero sin embargo, eres mi oro.
Oro, mi joya y mi vida especial eres cálidosa
Y nos resplandeces con tus rayos de luz.
Lucido te vistes, lucido te quedas
Al verte salir me das alegría y una nueva vida,
Como si volviera a nacer.

Five Snakes
Once
I saw
Five
Beautiful
Little
Brown and black striped snakes
In my yard
Playing with my ball,
Moving and pushing it.
I felt
Cold rain
Falling from the sky.
That’s worth
A celebration
Any time.
I wrote it down
And drew
The rain falling down,
The five snakes,
And me.
Now June fourteenth
Is Snake Celebration Day.
Here’s what I will do:
I will spray water
On the grass
And go running
And sliding
And then
Play with the ball.

Double Rainbow
Once
I saw
A double rainbow.
It had red,
Blue,
Yellow,
And purple.
It was raining.
The street was flooded
Like
A deep lake.
Children
Were swimming
And
Throwing others
In the dirty water.
Then
Half
The rainbow disappeared.
It was August 25th.
I will celebrate
This day
With my friend,
Tony,
Because we were all alone.
That same day
We are going
To be together
In the same place
All alone
Outside
In our tree house.

No More Guns
Fishing is fun,
But fishing you do not do with a gun.
But you do not need a gun to have fun.
You use a gun when you swim or run.
But only to start the race,
Not to shot someone in the face.

Halloween Fun
Halloween is a scary and fun day.
All of us are just gonna stay.
Looking for all the goodies.
Let’s all go to the movies.
On the streets, we’re going to be running.
We all gotta have something shining.
Everyone!! Candies and tricks let’s go get
Everything we get we got to check
Before we eat everything we get .
No more monsters, no more tricks or candies.
The day is over.
Goodbye Halloween!!!

Wind
I can hear the wind.
Listen to it clanging, hanging,
Rattling at the window demanding to be let in.
One tree’s branch is shaking, breaking
And then falling onto the soft earth.
I can hear the wind.
The wind is rolling, strolling,
And then gently blowing way.
Now, I can’t hear the wind.
Now the wind is gone.

Loneliness
Loneliness is when you feel so left out.
Loneliness is when you don’t have a friend
Who can come out.
A friend had gone far, far away.
And now you don’t have a friend who really
Wants to stay.
At night you sit down and wonder why, why,
Why does loneliness have to stay?
You wish your friend hadn’t moved away.
You remember the fun and fun things you
And your friend had and did
Before she was gone away.
Loneliness isn’t such a good pal.
Loneliness isn’t a pal at all.

Sound
Sound comes in many ways,
Like the tides slamming against the bays
Like the leaves bristling
And the wind whistling.
Sound comes in many ways
Like palm trees mild swing at every cay
Like merry children laughing back and forth on swings
And how a small, delicate, yellow canary merrily sings.
Sound comes in many ways
Like ringing, sprinkling dust from hay
Like the first steps gallop of colt
And how soldiers stomp, march and come to a halt.
Sound comes in many ways
Like the sizzling bright sun rays
Like the squeaking sound of a rat
Like the purring and meowing of a cat.
Sound comes in many ways
Like bones giggling and rattling and soon decay
Like splashing water drops
Like frogs’ thumping hops.
Sound comes in many ways
Like cars’ rushing sounds go by on freeways
Like people talking
And dogs barking.

My Love For You
My love for you is like the sky,
With blue, white marks, that look like bubblegum.
Like a marshmallow, is the color yellow.
My love it’s with you, my spirit, my heart.
I will always be there, to talk to about the sky.
My love for you, is just for you.
We share special moments, like fight always in special
places.
You might not love my character, but waiting.
You, maybe love me, waiting right here I am.
Till that special day comes, when we stop fighting.
When it will come, I don’t know.

Come With Me Over The Rainbow
Come with me over the rainbow
There is magic there you can see
The colors are bright and shiny
Oh, it’s so fun to be me!
They say at the end of a rainbow
There is a pot of gold
And some may not believe it
But it is a story of old.
Up in the sky, among the clouds,
I feel that I could fly;
What a lovely, delightful wish,
To be oh so very high!

The Colors of the Rainbow
The colors of the rainbow are:
Blue, yellow, orange and red.
I’ve heard that form a teddy bear
Named Ted.
I see a rainbow after the rain
All the way to Maine.
The raibow goes over the cloud
After the thunder is loud.
At the end you can see…
The pot of gold!
Has anybody been to the end
Where the tiny men stand.
Watching the pot of gold right below
Where the hopes, dreams…
Seem to glow?
That is what I am told
Even though I am not old.
I wish I can see it …
Before I get too old.

My saturated shirt
The sweat of generations lingers
I breathe in time with the bouncing ball
Shoes are squeaking

The soft, worn ball is in my calloused hands
Grunts and smashing of bodies
We’re twisted like a pretzel

I see my partner in battle smile
Pride walls up within me

Darkness
A terrifying darkness
As dark as death,
So dark you can’t see a simple
Hand that lies beyond your face.
Is someone there?
Whose breath is that hot against my face
Like the burning wind on a
Scorching summer day?
Whose quivering fingers are those
Sending electrifying sensations
Through my rigid body?
Whose ready eyes are those penetrating
My skin like the prickling rose thorns
Held in your hand?
Is someone there?
I feel something beside me, but what,
Who? Is there really anything?

Only the real person inside.

Over the
Rainbow
Over the rainbow is a vision
Beyond and visions; it is more
Radiant than the shimmering
Of God that glisten off the walls
Of caves; it is a heavenly feeling
Of calmness and tenderness,
The sound of laughter; the cries of joy,
It moves ones’ heart so; the elegant
Chirps of an unknown bird
Awakes you as you lie on a mist
That is gentler
Than any tender, feathered
Pillow, the ringing of laughter
And delight that occupies
The air tends to make you forget
All of your grief and sorrow
Back in reality, the complexion
And all of the fashions
Of the rainbow make all your fantasies
And desires come true,
Over the rainbow is a happening
You will never forget,
But when it all ends, you awaken,
Tangled in quilts in an unknown
Room, still caught on the string
That holds you on your thoughts
Of this extraordinary place;
Your realizing now, it was all
An astonishing dream.

Why, why, why must you burden me so!
Please, ma’am please, as I beg on my knees,

It’s a holiday! Not a ‘Homework Dues-day’!
Oh okay, I’ll take the homework.
But no one says I can’t boil it!
Or, maybe flush it down the toilet!
Hey! The bathtub drain could take it,
Or, maybe in the oven bake it.
I wonder…I could feed it to a shark!
Or, somehow, to my brother Mark
What?!? You say my grade will suffer
Well, not another word to utter!

Or become a dancer;
But, I’ll just sit and write
The two sentence answer.

How the Bunny Came To Be
It was a day,
So clear it was.
A rainbow lit the sky.
A frog sat up,
And when God spoke,
A glisten shown in his eye.
“You’ve been so Good,
You’ve been so Kind,
A wish I’ll grant for ye.”
The frog lowered his head
And opened his heart.
“There are some changes you’ve asked of Me.”
“ you want to be thought of as Soft and Gentle,
instead of slimy and cold”.
You want to be Held,
Cuddled and Loved,
At least that is what I am told.”
All of a sudden thunder crashed,
Lightning struck
And the frog had disappeared.
And in his place
Stood a beautiful bunny,
Who cried with joyous tears.

Because Thanksgiving is near.
Listen to the tip tap tapping

The Mirror
The mirror shows what everyone’s sees,
Sometimes not even yourself is
Aware of what your true feelings are
You think you’re content,
But you are not.
Your eyes are gleeful and your smile is strong,
And yet you go on feeling glum and blue,
You feel miserable, but can not show it.
For fear of betraying yourself,
So you hide behind a smile.
Until one day it all changes,
You appear the same,
Your eyes gleeful, with your smile so strong.
But now you feel as if to let your actual self out,
If they really love you, deep and true.
They will accept you as you are.
And as for betraying yourself, you will not do so,
For you must carry on as the mirror shows
You.
