You are invited to take “A Step Back in Time” as you walk into the exquisite El Paso Museum of History gift store. Here we have a collection of new merchandise that changes every day depending on current exhibitions, along with participating guest speakers and authors. We also have an array of noteworthy books which include Historic Photos of El Paso and Remembering El Paso by Sandra Fye; and Images of America, El Paso 1850 – 1950 by James R. Murphy, who is in house to sign a copy. We have also accumulated a vast assortment of books for all ages.
We have authentic hand crafted signed pieces woven by Mayan women in Guatemala. We have great Mayan calendar pieces such as magnets, buttons, ornaments and more. We have an excellent book by Dr. Mark Van Stone “2012 Science & Prophecy of the Ancient Maya” which is and excellent visual representation of ancient Mayan “hieroglyphs, united with history, science, and humor”. We also have a beautiful selection of tropical rainforest toys and plush animals which coincide with the rich culture of the ancient Mayan world.
In addition, A Step Back in Time Gift Store is proud to house handmade Mata Ortiz pottery, metal and copper embossing by Maria Almeida Natividad and other original historical works of art from various artists. We have a wide variety of beautiful silver, beaded and turquoise jewelry. The Gift store also carries El Paso Icons products including old west posters, note cards, postcards and magnets. We have a diversity of cookbooks relating to the area such as Mexican Family Favorites, Salsa Lovers Cookbook, Tortilla Lovers Cookbook, Barbecue, Biscuits and Beans, The Joy of Muffins, and the Cowboy Cookbook.
A Step Back in Time Gift Store provides a wide range of kid-friendly merchandise consisting of historical rubber ducks, airplane items, mini-cars, flags, historical die-cast pencil sharpeners, goose-quill pens, marbles, Marshal Badges, whistles, jacks, and much more.
