March 6 – Screening of Capstone Productions’ video Mexican Revolution Sites in El Paso, Volume 1, followed by a panel discussion with Leon Metz and Fred Morales. This video features a walking tour of sites in El Paso that figured prominently in the Mexican Revolution. Free.2:00 to 4:00 PM
March 7 – “Borderline Americans: Racial Division and Labor War in the Arizona Borderlands” - Lecture by Dr. Katherine Benton-Cohen, a professor of history at Georgetown University. This lecture will highlight the research Dr. Benton-Cohen did for her book of the same title, published by Harvard University Press. A book signing will take place both before and after in the museum gift shop. Free. 1:00 to 4:00 PM
March 11 – “The Great Columbus Raid” – A fascinating discussion with Keith Wilden about the events of the March 9th raid on the town of Columbus, New Mexico. Free. 7:00 to 8:00 PM
March 17 – “The DaVinci Experience: Leonardo the Man” – Visiting exhibition curator Godfrey Harris will give an interesting talk about the personal side of the great inventor and artist, Leonardo DaVinci. Free. 7 to 8 PM
March 20 – “Family Coin Day”. Enjoy special events and hands on activities as the museum celebrates the opening of the coin exhibit entitled Viva la Revolucion. Free. 2:00 to 4:00 PM
March 20 – “WWII Reenactment” – Come join members of the local WWII squadron on the lawn adjacent to the Museum as they take you back to the year 1943 when El Paso and the nation was at war with Germany and Japan. A mock battle will take place. Free. 2:00 to 4:00 PM
March 25 – “The Experience of Children during the Revolution” – Lecture by UTEP professor Dr. Yolanda Leyva. Third in the Mexican Revolution Lecture Series made possible by a grant from Humanities Texas. Free. 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
March 27 – “Kids Palooza” – Come celebrate this fun event at the Museum of History by making DaVinci helicopters, parachutes, and colorful drawings. Free. 1:00 to 4:00 PM
