Mission

To promote market, and manage the Foreign-Trade Zone program as a tool for attracting jobs, industry, and investment to the El Paso trade area, reducing transaction costs for U.S. companies engaged in international commerce in order to stimulate economic activity to El Paso through its ports of entry; while encouraging value-added activities in our region and providing oversight of FTZ firms to ensure compliance with federal regulation and avoid Customs fines or penalties.

Goals

• Provide special customs procedures to U.S. companies engaged in international trade- related activities offering its benefits and advantages.
• Serve as a one-stop shop for the international trade community that is accessible and located within U.S. Customs airport jurisdiction.
• Provide value added services to FTZ businesses utilizing the zone, such as FTZ user training.
• Continue efforts to automate FTZ operations in connection with U.S. Customs automated commercial environment.
• Coordinate FTZ target markets with air cargo and economic development efforts.
• Conduct promotional and marketing projects to enhance public awareness of FTZ benefits and international trade opportunities in the region.
