Fuel tanks both large and small need to be permitted when installing. After installation a flammable liquid permit is required for storage.
Anytime there is a planned placement of a fuel tank of any time (underground or aboveground) the Fire Prevention Division requires the submittal of the plans. The reason for this is to ensure proper distances and tank types prior to installation. Construction documents shall be submitted for review and approval prior to work beginning on site. A permit shall then be issued. Plans usually take no more than two working days for review. All plans must be brought by 8600 Montana Ave. to the Fire Prevention Division Office for review. The International Fire CodeŽ, NFPA 30, NFPA 30A, and NFPA 10 are the materials used to reference requirements of any fuel tank. Permitting Frequently Asked Questions Return to Permitting |
