Station 12 Saves Life
I flat-lined and Station 12 crews saved my life
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I cannot say it enough; you saved my life. On April 11, 2017, while getting ready for bed around 10:30 p.m., I collapsed with a major heart attack. I cut my forehead, broke my nose and woke up in a pool of blood. When my husband found me, he immediately called 9-1-1. I wish I knew the names of the firefighters; they were quick, efficient and understanding. They rushed me to UMC where I got excellent treatment. I had a pacemaker implanted, and I am now almost fully recovered after spending 20 days in the hospital and three weeks in a skilled nursing facility.
At a family gathering, I was singing the praises of your department and my niece's husband, FF Heriberto Baeza, said you could possible thank those young men who responded to my plight. I might add that for 40 seconds, I flat-lined but CPR brought me back.
So again, thank you to the first responders from Station 12 and your department. Eternally grateful, - Martha C.
