EPFD HIRING PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATOR TRAINEES


EL PASO, Texas - The El Paso Fire Department is accepting applications for Public Safety Communicator Trainees until August 15, 2019. Public Safety Communicators process emergency and non-emergency telephone calls and dispatch, monitor, and coordinate activities of emergency personnel (police, fire and medical) using a multi-channel radio system and a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, and two years of general work experience with at least one year involving public contact. Spanish is not required for hiring but may be a requirement depending on which function is assigned. Non-Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.

Upon completion of the training period, trainees will be promoted to Public Safety Communicator starting at $34,537 annually.
