Arrest Made in Connection To House Fire

EL PASO, Texas – On March 8th, 2019, 11 units and 33 firefighters from the El Paso Fire Department responded to a Condition 1 Fire in a vacant house at the 2600 block of Morehead. No injuries were reported during the incident. Damages to the structure were estimated at $47,000.

An arson investigation conducted by the El Paso Fire Marshal’s Office has led to the arrest of Jesus Bernal in connection the house fire on March 8, 2019, at the 2600 block of Morehead Ave. Investigators from the Fire Marshal’s office booked Bernal on Thursday, March 28, 2019, on one count of arson of habitation.   

Jesus Bernal is being charged with violation of the Texas Penal Code Offense 28.02 – Arson; First Degree Felony. Bernal's bond was set at $50,000.
