Solid Waste Management

• Collection and Disposal of all Residential Solid Waste generated within the City limits of El Paso. A total of 398,000 tons of trash was properly landfilled in 2005
• Operation of Citizen Collection Stations where garbage users dispose of yard waste, bulky items and recyclables free of charge
• Operation of a free Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Program at the six Citizen Collection Stations

• Contribution to the Quality of Life and preservation of neighborhoods by operating an effective Code Compliance Program
• Protection and enhancement of the well being of the community and the protection of the environment through the enforcement of Environmental Laws

• Promote and ensure City compliance with environmental regulations and maintain a safe environment for the Citys facilities and the City of El Paso
• Beautification of the City through a program of removal of illegal dumping sites on public properties and the clean up of alleys
• Coordination of environmental engineering services throughout the City, including asbestos/mold, Brownfields, EPA/TCEQ compliance, and stormwater management
