The Air Quality Program focuses its efforts on protecting the citizens of El Paso and the environment from the harmful effects of air pollution. The Air Quality Program is composed of two sections: Enforcement and Monitoring.
The Enforcement Section focuses on conducting inspections of the regulated community and responding to citizen complaints/concerns. The Monitoring Section is involved in the actual ambient air monitoring on a continuous basis throughout the El Paso, Cd. Juarez and Sunland Park air basin.
Many programs are developed in cooperation with TCEQ to bring about the emissions reductions necessary to achieve clean air.
