2006 Summer Camp: "Man of the Forest"
It's another exciting year at Zoo Camp. This year campers will explore the world of an ape with long arms and reddish hair.the ORANGUTAN. Children will become aware and increase their appreciation for the "Man of the Forest". They will learn about the habitat, diet and intelligence of these magnificent animals. Zoo campers will also have the opportunity to visit behind the scenes, converse with zoo keepers, participate in animal presentations, work on crafts, play games, enjoy healthy snacks and receive an official zoo camp t-shirt.
Age for Campers: Sessions are for children 6 through 10 years old.
Registration: Please return camp application along with payment as soon as possible. Class sizes are limited. Call 915 532-8156 for more information.
Cost per Camper for each camp week: $85 for non-members; and $75 for El Paso Zoological Society members.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled with one week or more notice, the fee is $5.00. If cancelled within one week or less notice, the fee is 50% of session cost.
Animal Contact: Campers will have the opportunity to learn about our animals through personal contact with the zoo's "education animals" each week. For the camper's safety, direct contact with the zoo's general animal collection is not possible.
Sign-In Policy: Parents or guardians must sign their campers in each morning at the front gate. They will be asked the name of the individual who will be picking the camper up at noon. A picture I.D. must be presented when picking up any child. Campers will not be released to anyone other than the person listed for that day without confirmation from the parent or guardian.
Camp T-Shirts: Campers will receive one free t-shirt that must be worn during zoo camp. Additional Zoo Camp t-shirts may be purchased for $10.00 each.
