Texas Gas Service
Company was founded in Wink, Texas, in 1929 as Southern Union Gas. The company grew to become the third largest natural gas distribution company in Texas. In January 2003 ONEOK purchased these Texas assets and named the distribution company Texas Gas Service Company. Service Area Texas Gas Service serves approximately 600,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Texas. The company’s largest service areas are Austin, El Paso, and the Rio Grande Valley. In addition, Texas Gas Service provides service to customers in Galveston, Port Arthur, Mineral Wells, Lockhart, and several communities in the Permian Basin and the Texas panhandle.

Texas Gas Service is a division of Tulsa-based ONEOK, Inc. (NYSE:OKE), a diversified energy company. ONEOK is among the largest natural gas distributors in the United States, serving more than 2 million customers in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. The company’s energy services operation focuses primarily on marketing natural gas and related services throughout the U.S. ONEOK is the general partner and own 47.8 percent of ONEOK Partners, L.P. (NYSE: OKS), one of the largest publicly traded limited partnerships, which is a leader in the gathering, processing, storage and transportation of natural gas in the U.S. and owns one of the nation’s premier natural gas liquids (NGL) systems, connecting much of the natural gas and NGL supply in the Mid-Continent with key market centers. ONEOK is a Fortune 500 company.
