El Paso International Airport, the gateway to West Texas, Southern New Mexico and Northern Mexico, provides airline passenger services, air cargo, and general aviation services. The airport is favored with abundant land (nearly 7,000 acres) and beautiful flying weather.
As a medium hub airport, we move over 3 million passengers per year with seven commercial airlines providing passenger service. These airlines have over 166 combined arrivals and departures per day.
The Airport is also home to a large and active general aviation community. Numerous services are available to support El Paso's aviation needs.
Butterfield Trail Air Cargo Center is the largest and most modern air cargo complex on the U.S./Mexico border. This cargo center is not just a means to enable the movement of air cargo, but will provide a foundation for the future economic development of the Borderplex by providing existing businesses with an opportunity to expand in El Paso and providing new industries with transportation support to reaffirm their choice of El Paso as a place to locate.
Industrial activity is also closely associated with our airport. El Paso was one the first airports to develop and promote industrial parks as an alternative source of revenue. Currently, we are in the process of revitalizing mature industrial parks, as well as preparing additional new parks to accommodate El Paso's unique development opportunities.
El Paso International Airport is committed to capitalizing on our geographical and demographic advantages by providing our community with the best possible air transportation facilities. El Paso's unique location, transportation facilities, and workforce give the city a strong advantage in its historical role as the primary transportation center between the U.S. and Mexico.
