Singer Sewing Company Building
211- 213 Texas Avenue
El Paso, Texas 79901
Designed for the Singer Sewing Company in 1928, Henry C. Trost articulated the building’s concept in a combination of Spanish Colonial Revival and Mediterranean influences.
The two-story structure is constructed of poured concrete with a plastered finish and abuts the Newberry Building on the east.
The storefront is divided into two bays that creates a tower-like appearance, ornamented with a broad segmental arched opening, grillwork, balconies, and irregular quoins of scored concrete emphasize the building’s Spanish and Mediterranean character.
The Singer Sewing Company’s crest is affixed near the wall cornice on the main façade.
