REPRESENTATIVE BETO O'ROURKE
Robert "Beto" O'Rourke is a fourth-generation El Paso native who attended Mesita Elementary and El Paso High School and graduated with a B.A. from Columbia University.
He started a successful technology company in downtown El Paso with a few friends in 1999, and has helped develop it to be a leading provider of web-based services in El Paso and the surrounding region. He ran for office in 2005 to work for more opportunity for all El Pasoans and help District 8 receive the best possible representation.
Representative O'Rourke is focused on the following platform for improving District 8 and the City of El Paso:
- Make the most of our tax dollars, delivering effective and efficient city services
- Partner with the business community to create a long-term economic development plan for El Paso
- Safeguard and enhance our quality of life, especially when it comes to our natural and open spaces
- Value transparency, honesty and accountability
