The El Paso Metropolitan Planning Organization is the regional transportation planning agency responsible for working with local, state and federal agencies, including transportation providers and neighborhood groups in El Paso county and southern Dona Ana county, New Mexico. Future growth projections are necessary and crucial to the planning process. Therefore, the MPO conducts population projections by utilizing Traffic Analysis Zones which vary in size and are different from census tracts, among other factors.
Note: The MPO utilizes a different methodology from the City of El Paso, Planning Division to project future growth.
