Starting Tuesday, Sept. 1, the New Mexico Department of Transportation Park and Ride Express Bus Service will begin providing bus service between El Paso and Anthony, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico.The service, known as the Park and Ride Gold Route, will pick up and drop off passengers at the following locations:
El Paso's Union Plaza Transit Terminal, 400 West San Antonio
Anthony's Lowes Big 8 parking lot, on the north side of Franklin Street
NMSU Main Campus; east of the Pan American Center on the northeast corner of the International Mall and Payne Street
Las Cruces Bus Terminal, 180 W. Amador
This new route will be served by 57-passenger buses, and will include 19 bus trips each weekday between Las Cruces, Anthony and El Paso.
One-way fares on the Gold Route will be $3. In El Paso, passengers can purchase tickets at the Union Plaza Transit Terminal.
Monthly pass are available online for $90. A limited number of system-wide passes, allowing transfers between the Gold Route and all other New Mexico Park and Ride routes, also are available online for $150.
