Sun Metro Initiates New Day and Weekly Passes
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 1, Sun Metro riders will be able to purchase the new daily and weekly passes as they board any fixed-route bus.
Aimed at helping public transit riders save money, the new passes are good for an unlimited number of bus trips during the life of the pass.

The daily passes will be sold for $3. The weekly passes cost $2.50 for seniors and disabled people, $6 for students and $10 for traditional riders. The passes can be purchase on each Sun Metro bus and used on any fixed routes.

The 25 cent transfer passes are still available and must be requested when paying the primary bus fare.

Sun Metro Director Jay Banasiak said the new passes are part of a continued effort by the department to make public transit more accessible, attractive and a viable travel option.

“We want to invite more people to use El Paso's public transportation system,” Banasiak said. “The daily and weekly passes allow commuters to travel throughout the city an unlimited number of times in one or seven days at a very economical price.”

Monthly passes are also available and can be purchased at the Eastside Terminal, the Union Plaza Transit Terminal, any of the city’s public libraries or by mail.

Monthly passes are $40 for traditional riders, $25 for students (a valid school ID is required), and $10 for senior/disabled passengers.
