Improving Lower Dyer
Pilot Project – Streetscape within the Lower Dyer Neighborhood Revitalization AreaThe City of El Paso is improving the streetscape of a portion of Dyer Street within the Lower Dyer Neighborhood Revitalization Area with a pilot project underway by Neighborhood Services Division. The improvements will be along the three block stretch of Dyer Street between Polk and Van Buren.
The project includes the installation of new sidewalks, parkway improvements, two new Sun Metro bus shelters, and the planting of 31 trees. This project will compliment the housing improvements, code enforcement, law enforcement activities, and community services that are being focused into this neighborhood as part of the holistic, comprehensive revitalization of the neighborhood.
The Project began on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 and should be complete in one month. The contractor will be starting at the intersection of Polk and Dyer and will work south towards Van Buren. It is estimated that each block will take approximately one week to complete.
