Underage Drinking Initiative - Today
Tonight (Friday, March 19) from 10:00pm through 3:00am officers from the El Paso Police Department's Central Regional Command Center will conduct a citywide campaign to prevent underage youth from drinking and driving. This Underage Drinking Initiative, which began last Friday, March 12th, is sponsored through a grant from the Safe Communities Program.
Crime Stoppers of El Paso is assisting the Police Department and the Safe Communities Program by providing a way for people in the community to report any incidents of underage drinking they may witness. The campaign is a collaborative effort of members of the Rio Grande Safe Communities Coalition, El Paso Police Department, Crime Stoppers of El Paso, El Paso County Attorney, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Texas Department of State Health Services, Project Bravo, Child Protective Service, and Operation No Gangs among others. The campaign is based on a program of the Drug-Free Action Alliance and substance abuse prevention community coalitions in North Texas.
If you have a tip about the location of an underage drinking party, call Crime Stoppers of El Paso immediately at 566-TIPS (566-8477) or submit your tip online at www.crimestoppersofelpaso.org. You will remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to an arrest, you could receive a cash reward.
