Sun Metro Detours 9 Routes for Oregon Street Rehabilitation Phase One



Construction along Oregon Street between Yandell Drive and Rio Grande Avenue will require Sun Metro to detour routes 11, 14, 15, 34, 35, 36, 50, 70 and SMART 101 for approximately three months beginning Monday, May 24.

 

A temporary bus stop will be placed on El Paso Street and Yandell Drive. Sun Metro drivers will make courtesy stops along the detour route as required.

The detours are as follows:

Route 11 and SMART 101
Buses traveling outbound, east on Franklin Avenue will turn left onto Mesa Street, left onto Arizona Avenue, right onto Oregon Street returning to its regular route.

Buses traveling inbound, south on Oregon Street will turn left onto Rio Grande Avenue, right onto Mesa Street, right onto Missouri Avenue, left onto Oregon Street returning to the regular route.

Routes 14 and 15
Buses traveling inbound, south on Oregon Street will turn left onto Rio Grande Avenue, right onto Mesa Street, right onto Missouri Avenue, left onto Oregon Street returning to the regular route.

Routes 34 and 36
Buses traveling inbound, west on Arizona Avenue will turn left onto Mesa Street, right onto Missouri Avenue, left onto Oregon Street returning to the regular route.

Route 35 and 50
Buses traveling inbound, west on Yandell Drive will turn left onto El Paso Street, left onto Wyoming Avenue, right onto Oregon Street returning to the regular route.

Route 70
Buses traveling outbound, west on Missouri Avenue will turn right onto Stanton Street, left on Arizona Avenue, right onto Oregon Street returning to its regular route.

The construction along Oregon Street is part of a 15-month project to completely renovate the street from Yandell Drive to the New York Channel, north of Kerbey Avenue. The project will be performed in phases and will improve roadways, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, street lights, sewers and more. The expected completion is August 2011.
