Code Violation of the Month
Code violations linked to motor vehicle licensing will be targeted this month, the Code Compliance Division of the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department announced.
Each month, the division highlights a specific code violation to increase community awareness of laws addressing blight and public nuisances, which were designed to protect the environment, as well as the safety, health and welfare of our citizens.
This month, inspectors are targeting motor vehicle licensing violations as defined in Title 5 of the El Paso City Code.
Under the code, motor vehicle dealerships are required to have their motor vehicle dealer license posted at all times in a place where it is visible to customers.
Violators risk a citation punishable by a fine of up to $500. Court costs may apply.
As part of the Code Violation of the Month effort, inspectors will conduct enforcement sweeps in April for violations linked to motor vehicle licensing.
During the sweeps, inspectors will also be on the lookout for code violations related to junk vehicles, motor vehicle repairs and motor vehicle storage as defined in Title 9 and 20 of the El Paso City Code.
