Community Meeting: Oregon Street Reconstruction Project
The Engineering Department will begin mobilizing on the Oregon Street Reconstruction Project in April 2010. In effort to share project details before construction activities initiate, a community meeting is taking place on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Main Downtown Library Auditorium (501 N. Oregon Street) at 6:00 pm.
The project consists of critical improvements on Oregon St. from Wyoming Ave. to the New York Canal near the Don Haskins Center. In order to expedite the necessary construction activities, please note temporary street closures will be in place for approximately 15 months.
Work will begin on north end of Oregon St. and will proceed south
Only 2-3 blocks will be closed at a time
Driveways will be accessible throughout construction
Traffic will be diverted onto Mesa St. and El Paso St.
Once completed, featured improvements will consist of new:
Underground sewer and water utilities
Roadway and driveways
ADA compliant sidewalks, curb and gutter and ramps
Street lights
All interested individuals are encouraged to attend this upcoming community meeting.
