The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Calling All Seniors Program is a point of contact in the Extreme Weather Task Force (EWTF). Calling All Seniors is a friendly telephone call service from one senior to another that provides a friendly visit by phone. The service is free of charge and is for any senior, needing or wanting to talk to someone over the phone.

Summit seeks to develop a community action plan to improve literacy in El Paso

The El Paso Public Library will be hosting a Literacy Summit at the Main Library on Wednesday, September 8, which is International Literacy Day.  The summit will offer participants the opportunity to attend two of four breakout sessions addressing: Adult Education; Workplace Literacy; Family Literacy; Bi-National Education.  These working sessions will hold panel discussions and presentations by experts in the field and will highlight student success stories of individuals who have benefited by participating in programs that address issues of literacy.
