Storm 2006: Final Community Distribution of Paint to be Held
Residents and Commercial property owners are welcomed to pick up free paint and painting supplies that have been donated to the community in an effort to assist relief and recovery efforts after the major flooding events that recently plauged our area. Kwal Paint initiated a community effort in which the company would donate approximately 14,000 gallons of paint to citizens that were affected by the storm. Miles Tunno, president of Kwal Paint, pursued this donation initiative to help give back to the community he is a native of.
The effort was expanded upon by Kwal Paint, in conjunction with the City of El Paso, Salvation Army, Home Depot and Telemundo 48.
Despite two initial distributions, there is still a great deal of paint available to the citizens of El Paso. A final distribution will be help Saturday, October 28th from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Warehouse located at 1410 Gail Borden, C1. (Warehouse is located on the eastside of town, off of Pellicano between Lomaland and Lee Trevino).
If an individual would like to pick up paint/painting supplies, they must bring a photo ID and proof of damage (e.g. photos of damage at their property and copy of claim/casework with their insurance agency, FEMA, Salvation Army or other assistance agency.)
For more information, please contact the Salvation Army at 544-9811.
